Taylor County drug bust leads to five arrest

TAYLOR COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Five people were arrested after law enforcement found methamphetamine, guns, drug paraphernalia, and other drugs inside a home in Taylor County. 

On Friday, the Taylor County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force conducted its second "Deputies Without Borders" operation since joining the earlier this year. 

Following complaints of suspected drug activity in the neighborhood, deputies did a search warrant at a home on Foley Cut Off Road in Perry. 

As a result of the search, a trafficking amount of crystal methamphetamine was found, along with synthetic cannabis, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and two firearms. 

Deputies say five people were taken into custody with charges ranging from drug paraphernalia to trafficking methamphetamine. 

Kenneth Earl Padgett Jr. 41, James Peacock 23, Donald Wright 29, David Miles 24, and Debra Monroe 48, all from Perry Fla. were arrested. 

Investigators from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Perry Police Department, and the Florida Highway Patrol Criminal Interdiction Unit helped with the investigation.
