TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - This past May, Tallahassee was named a silver biking friendly community by League of American Bicyclists.

Now, they’re making improvements to go for the gold.

The City of Tallahassee is working on ways to create infrastructure, inform citizens about cycling, and other ways to make Tallahassee more bicycle friendly.

Their next big project is improving the St. Mark’s trail.

"Here soon we will complete the connection of the St. Mark’s trail. Soon people will be able to ride all the way from Cascades Park to the Midtown area, down through the St. Mark’s trail all the way to the coast," said Julie Christensen, with City of Tallahassee and Leon County Planning Department. "So that’ll be the Capital City to the sea trail and that’ll connect and that’s great."

The City of Tallahassee is also looking to make the PACE Ride Share Program available in more areas of the community.
