Henry L. Sutton Jr. was driving a black Cadillac northbound on Mission Road when police say the car hit the median.

According to the Tallahassee Police Department the vehicle veered right, hit a telephone pole, and flipped on its roof. When it hit the telephone, police say it knocked down power lines.

A passenger in the car, Adarius L. Jackson, survived with only minor injuries but Sutton was killed in the crash.

The City of Tallahassee reported Tuesday that over 2,800 utility customers near Fred George, Mission, Faringdon, Old Bainbridge, and Huntington Woods were without power because of the crash.
