TALLAHASSEE, FL. (WTXL)-- Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum took to social media to respond to comments about the power outages.

Like Florida Governor Rick Scott, the Tallahassee Mayor has been touring areas impacted by Hurricane Hermine and meeting with local officials on Power Restoration Efforts. But, some reports are saying that Gillum refused republican help to prepare for the mass amount of outages, to further his liberal agenda.

Gillum refuted these in a late night Facebook Post saying, "Let me be clear. we are happy to accept any help from any person or organization that is going to accelerate the speed at which we can safely restore power to our residents."

Gillum went on to express his frustration about the rumors and to remind the community that the city has accepted help from eight other utility companies from three different states.

He also that he has worked well with several other mayors in neighboring cities.
