TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - It is official! Tallahassee Fire Station number 2 has been added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Florida Secretary of State Ken Detzner made the announcement that adding nine properties to the list.

The fire station on East Sixth Avenue, was built in 1951 and was designed by Architect James A. Stripling.

The National Registry and locals talked about why this facility is a national treasure.
