TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - For a few families in Tallahassee, the giving spirit of the holidays is arriving just in time. They'll soon have a home of their own.

The Dwellings Project will provide 130 homes for people who have a tough time affording homes on their own.

The homes will be equipped with the latest technology such as smart locks and lighting and even a voice-capable interface.

That allows you to talk to your home and have it complete tasks like scheduling transportation to a doctors appointment.

The founder of The Dwellings, Rick Kearney, says he wanted to do a little extra for the community.

The grand opening is set for December 4.
