LIVE OAK, FL (WTXL) -- The Suwannee County Sheriff's Department is seeking feedback on the potential use of body cameras.

Sheriff Sam St. John is inviting the community to participate through an online survey. St. John said he's currently working on the necessary paperwork for grant funding -- and the survey is a required element to obtain the grant.

The 15-question survey asks questions regarding how the cameras will benefit the community, the department and the ability to solve crimes. The survey also considers the issues of privacy, transparency and safety.

It also asks when cameras should be turned on and off -- and whether buying the cameras is a "good use of tax dollars."

The survey can be accessed from the Suwannee County Sheriff's Department Facebook page -- and is available here.
