TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Sigfredo Garcia is back in court today in the murder case of FSU law professor Dan Markel.

Garcia is one of three suspects charged in Markel's murder.

But it seems he's not any closer to going to trial.

Garcia is still awaiting a trial date, after his pre-trial case management at the Leon County Court House on Tuesday.

Back in November, Sigfredo Garcia's attorneys filed a motion to request that his lawyer fees be waived due to his ex-wife Katherine Magbanua's arrest and charges as a co-defendant in the case involving Markel's death.

On Monday, Magbanua's attorneys requested a 90 day continuation. She will be back in court on May 1st.

She has been considered the key person to connect Markel's ex-wife's family to the murder. Magbanua is the mother of two children with Garcia.

As far as Garcia is concerned, he was originally scheduled to go to trial in November of last year, however his new trial date still remains up in the air.
