Severe thunderstorm watch, warning issued for SE Georgia, Big Bend counties

(WTXL) - A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for most of southeast Georgia and Big Bend counties through 8 p.m. and there are some severe thunderstorm warnings for some counties in SE Georgia and Big Bend counties. 

SOUTH GEORGIA:  

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect Cook, Berrien, Lowndes, Lanier, and Brooks until 3:30 p.m. 

The severe thunderstorm warning that was in effect for Brooks, Colquitt, Cook, Decatur, Seminole, and Thomas has expired. 

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the following counties: Baker, Berrien, Brooks, Clinch, Decatur, Echols, Grady, Lanier, Lowndes, Miller, Mitchell, Seminole until 8.pm.  

BIG BEND:    

A new severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for Taylor and Lafayette counties until 5:15 p.m. 

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Leon, Jefferson, Madison, and Taylor counties until 4 p.m. and eastern Jefferson and western Madison counties until 4:30 p.m. 

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for the City of Tallahassee, Midway, Gadsden, Leon, and northern Wakulla counties until 3:15 p.m. NWS Tallahassee says seek shelter.  

The severe thunderstorm warning that was in effect for Gadsden, Jackson, Liberty has expired. 

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for the following counties: Franklin, Gadsden, Jackson, Jefferson, Hamilton, Lafayette, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Suwannee, Taylor, Wakulla until 8 p.m.   

NWS Tallahassee is warning residents to expect up to 70 mph winds with potential impact to roofs, siding and trees as well as large hail and frequent lightning.
