JACKSON Co., FL (WTXL) - A man is behind bars in connection with the sexual assault of a 16-year-old girl.
According to the Jackson County Sheriff's Office, the incident happened on June 7 when the teen passed out in a truck in the parking lot of a club south of Mariana.
The teen told deputies when she woke up she was being sexually assaulted by Elliot Batson, while another man named Orinthid "O-J" Hayes drove the truck.
Deputes say Hayes also assaulted her.
The girl told deputies the man left her at the Marianna Garden Apartments where she then had to walk home alone at 5:00 a.m.
Batson was arrested the next day at the apartment complex.
Deputies say Hayes tried jumping out of the second story apartment's rear window, but officers were waiting for him.
Batson and Hayes were both charged with sexual battery.
