TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Meet today's Leon County Sheriff's Office School Resource Officer of the Day: Deputy Paxton Rogers.

Rogers, who has 21 years in law enforcement, is recognized for his work at Griffin Middle School on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017.

On duty, the Tallahassee native enjoys interacting with students. Off duty, this fan of Superman has pastimes that include reading the Bible and fishing.

Although part of his uniform is green, the deputy's favorite color is navy blue.

Had he not gone into law enforcement, he says, perhaps he would have become a math teacher.
