TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Stephen C. Smith Memorial Regatta returns this Friday for it's 45th year.
It was established in memory of a young sailor who died from a rare form of leukemia.

The weekend of events is happening at Shell Point Beach Park Friday, April 27 through Sunday, April 29.
Friday night events for pre-registered guests begin at 7:30 p.m. Registration on Saturday begins at 8:30 a.m. Beach fun on Sunday begins at 9:30 a.m. Charity auction on Sunday starts at 2 p.m.
Full registration packages for the entire weekend start at $45 a person and include a T-shirt, beverages and Saturday dinner.
Attendance on the beach to watch the races, enjoy concessions and participate in beach activities is free, except for a county parking fee.
