THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) -- For the past three years Project Backyard in Thomasville has worked to make sure no one goes without a meal for Thanksgiving.

The feast will be at MacIntyre Park Middle School on Thanksgiving between 12pm and 2pm. Families, single parents, students, veterans, and anyone else in need is able to join.

"What this event promotes is saying 'Hey, there's people across the street from us that we can do a simple thing, like volunteering a part of our time on Thanksgiving Day to help those people in need'", said Bryan Watt of Project Backyard in Thomasville. "And it really makes a lasting impact. It's not just meeting a temporary need for them, but it's also saying 'Hey, there's light in the world. There's hope and there's people that care.'"
