TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – A Tallahassee man has been arrested after police say he broke into a woman's home, bit her, and held her at gunpoint while he robbed her.

Julian Hartley, 28, is facing a series of charges including armed burglary and aggravated assault with firearm.

According to court documents, on Nov. 7, deputies responded to a burglary on Rushwood Lane.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they immediately noticed several injuries on the victim including bite marks on her shoulder.

According to deputies, the victim said she woke up to Hartley on top of her.

Documents say Hartley hit the victim in the head with a spotlight, then bit her a few times on her back and continued to hit her with another unknown object. At one point, Hartley stopped hitting the victim and she was able to call someone through Facebook messenger.

While the victim was on the phone, Hartley took a gun out of his backpack and pointed the gun at her, stating “I will kill you b****.”

According to documents, Hartley heard that the person on the phone was calling law enforcement, so he grabbed his backpack, took the victim’s American Express and food stamp cards before running away.

After he left, the victim ran to her front door and locked it. Hartley returned to the front porch of the home and again tried to break in through the bedroom window.

Hartley couldn’t break in, so he left the home.

Documents say the victim told deputies Hartley was with another person, who stayed in the car during the burglary. The victim said both Harley and the other person left together in a silver Toyota sedan.

Hartley was taken into custody and as of Wednesday, he remains in the Leon County Detention Facility.
