TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A Tallahassee man has been charged with drug trafficking after police found Flakka and more than $1,200 in his possession during a traffic stop.

While Tallahassee police were out patrolling on Wednesday evening, they became suspicious of a vehicle in the area of Texas Street.

Police say a Chevrolet sedan was recently reported stolen and because of this information, officers decided to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.

When officers approached, they quickly placed both the driver and passenger in handcuffs.

Documents say they searched the vehicle and found several items, including a scale, glass pipes and a backpack.

After finding the backpack, officers decided to search it, finding more drug paraphernalia and more than $1,200 in cash.

Officers say most of the items were found on the passenger's side, leading them to search the passenger who they identified as 32-year-old Barry Jackson.

During the search, police found 21.7 grams of Flakka in Jackson's pocket.

After the search, officers say Jackson randomly stated that "the vehicle was not stolen and that it was a rental."

Jackson also told police that the drugs found on him were for personal use. In addition, he admitted that the drug paraphernalia found inside the car belonged to him.

According to documents, Jackson was arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Center. He is being charged with drug trafficking of Flakka and possession of drug paraphernalia.
