TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- Police still do not have a suspect in the death of Florida State University Law Professor Daniel Markel and they are now asking for the public's help.

TPD has created a tip line solely dedicated to this case. Investigators are asking anyone who may have been in the area of the 2100 block of Trescott Drive on Friday July 18th, 2014 between the hours of 10:00am and Noon to please call them at (850) 891-4462.

Police are looking to talk to delivery drivers, visitors to the neighborhood or even pedestrians that were walking in the area who may have seen or heard anything that would lead investigators to the suspect in this case.

Police said that so far they believe that Markel was the intended target in this case. They also said that this death was not the result of a burglary or robbery.

Chief Michael DeLeo said “TPD will work tirelessly to follow up on all leads and evidence in this case and our thoughts and prayers are with the Markel family as they endure this terrible tragedy. My investigators will do everything they can to see those responsible for this murder are brought to justice.”
