ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Pensacola man has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for a fatal hit-and-run crash last year.

Charles Bodie of Pensacola, Florida will spend 10 years in the Florida Department of Corrections for leaving the scene of a crash involving death.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the crash happened nearly a year ago on August 15, 2017.

They say Bodie was driving southbound on Pensacola Blvd (S.R. 95) in the middle lane around 10:30 p.m. when 52-year-old Tina Cain of Linden, Alabama attempted to walk across the road.

Bodie's vehicle hit Cain, throwing and killing her. He then attempted to leave the scene, but was followed by a witness to his home.
