GADSDEN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in Quincy was arrested for abusing one of her elderly patients.
Georgette Pierce, 30, of Bainbridge, Ga. was arrested by the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office on April 19.
On April 2, GCSO began an investigation after the incident at a Quincy assisted living facility was referred by the Florida Department of Adult Protective Services.
Florida Department of Adult Protective Services stated that Pierce physically assaulted the victim when she became combatant and resistant to care by grabbing her wrists and hitting the victim on her shoulder, causing severe bruising and skin tears.
On April 19, Pierce admitted to GCSO that she was responsible for the injuries on the victim's wrists but denied any other accusations.
Pierce was arrested and charged with felony abuse of an elderly or disabled person 65 or older.
She was transported to Gadsden County Jail.
Pierce has since bonded out.
