TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)- The City of Tallahassee is partnering with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to assemble a Technical Assistance Panel (TAP) under ULI's Building Healthy Places Initiative to provide recommendations for the south side area improvements and visioning.

The City and ULI will host a two day TAP program Tuesday and Wednesday to receive background data about the area, tour the city, and hear directly from area stakeholders.  Institute experts will review information, discuss recommendations, craft an assessment, and prepare a closing presentation.

A report will be crafted within six weeks with detailed recommendations documenting the current conditions of the neighborhood, identifying long and short term goals and objectives for any desired future redevelopment, and recommending specific strategies for attracting funding and development.

Area residents are pushing for a facility where children can participate in extracurricular activities in order to keep them from getting into trouble.

When the report is complete, it will be provided to the City Commission for further discussion and integrated into current and future planning documents.
