THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WTXL) - The family of a woman who was found dead in Thomas County two years ago is looking for more answers in the case.

Friday officially marks two years since the body of 44-year-old Toni Rayburn was found. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is hoping to put a new focus on the case and solve it.

According to the GBI, Rayburn's family last heard from her on November 26th, 2015. On January 5th, 2016, her body was found in the woods on Spruce Lane in Thomasville.

It took until late 2017 for her remains were to be positively identified. Officials say they had to be sent off for special testing because the body was severely decomposed.

Rayburn's family says they believe someone has information and GBI agents are asking you to come forward. If you have any information, you are encouraged to call the GBI Thomasville Field Office at (229) 225-4090.
