VALDOSTA, GA (WTXL) - A monkey sighted over two weeks ago in Valdosta was seen again Monday morning, this according to officials at Valdosta State University.

Earlier in September, Valdosta Police Department said they received calls about monkey sightings in the county. The monkey was first spotted in Hahira and then in Valdosta, specifically the 400 block of River Street and later near JL Lomax Drive.

Police say they reached out to Wild Adventures who told them there were no monkeys missing from the park. There have also been no reports of a missing monkey.

Now, according to Jessica Pope with VSU, one officer with the VSU Police Department spotted the monkey around 4:30am on Monday, September 28th. The officer was heading on Brookwood Drive from Oak Street and saw the monkey cross the street from the Fine Arts Building side of the road to the Communication Arts Curriculum Building side. Officers searched the area, but could not find the monkey.

Valdosta Police ask that anyone who spots the monkey call 911 and let the authorities handle the matter.
