TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- The MLK Inspire Invitational Kick-Off, a basketball tournament to raise awareness about foster children in Florida, begins on Friday, January 17.

The Inspire Group, Incorporated is hosting the annual basketball invitational. Avery Curry, Rickards High School basketball coach started the community event in 2009. This year, the classic will bring in more than 18 basketball teams from around North Florida and South Georgia.

The event will include match-ups against West Gadsden High vs. Rickards High, FAMU High vs. Jefferson High, North Florida Education Institute vs. Atlanta Tri Cities and many more. The three day tournament, spanning from January 18-21, will also include give-a-ways from local businesses and informational booth set-ups. It will be held in the Rickards High School gymnasium.
