MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - After nearly a week of silence, Midway's City Manager is speaking up about her son, a suspect in a recent kidnapping and attempted murder.

Robert Moore is one of three men suspected of kidnapping and trying to murder a man, after a candlelight vigil in Tallahassee on Friday, April 6th.

Deputies have arrested Dennis Lockwood II. They're still looking for Moore and one unidentified suspect.

Moore is Midway City Manager Leslie Steele's son.

We first reported the story last Tuesday and reached out to Steele multiple times to get a comment. When WTXL reached her on the phone Tuesday, she would not say if Moore is her son.

Now, in a written statement to WTXL, Steele said, in part:

"Robert's father and I were deeply saddened to learn that our son, Robert Moore, was allegedly involved in an incident requiring law enforcement. We do not know his whereabouts and strongly urge him to cooperate with authorities."
