TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - A man was arrested after sending threatening messages to a woman, claiming her sister was pregnant with his child.

Shawn Young, 41, was arrested by the Tallahassee Police Department on April 27.

On Feb. 27 around 12:00 a.m., Young called TPD requesting documents to help him find a woman, who he claimed to be his girlfriend and pregnant with his child.

The police report states, Young became angry because the Records Department was closed.

Young told officers that he felt like, "shooting up Magnolia Terrace." He told officers that he believed the woman was staying at Magnolia Terrace Apartments and being used for prostitution by her current boyfriend.

Young then told officers he did not mean what he said and was just angry.

According to the police report, later on Feb. 27 around 10:00 a.m., Young called the Kearney Center stating he wanted to talk to the woman's sister (the victim).

Employees told Young the victim was not currently working, which made him angry and he began yelling over the phone.

Young stated that he had a child named "Yung" who was related to the victim and needed to talk to her.

When Young was told he could not be helped any further, he said, "I can blow up the entire place."

When the employee asked Young if that was a threat, Young hung up the phone. Officers then issued Young a trespass warning for the Kearney Center.

On March 14, officers were able to get into contact with the victim.

The victim told officers Young had been texting her between 30 to 40 times a day for the past week trying to find her sister.

The victim said she had to turn off her phone because of all the messages Young was sending her.

She stated that Young sent texts to her saying, "Your momma can't stop me."

According to the victim, Young claimed in the text messages that her sister was pregnant with his child and the victim was preventing him from finding her.

On June 29, officers spoke with the victim again. She stated that Young was now sending her messages on Facebook and believes he even attempted to friend her using a fake account.

The victim told officers Young has threatened her with texts saying he could hurt people and get away with it because he knows law enforcement is on his side, saying, "The more you taunt me the more I'll bust up homes with police, I have power being BD (baby's daddy) since DNA is proven now."

The victim also said that Young would harm her if she didn't put her sister on the phone, stating, "I'm see to it that the problems are resolved."

Based on the evidence, Young was arrested and charged with cyberstalking causing substantial emotional distress that served no legitimate purpose.

He was transported to the Leon County Jail.
