GOLF MANOR, OH (FOX19) - Police have released a video of an attempted kidnapping in Golf Manor on Saturday.

A man witnessed the incident and quickly jumped into action.

Nazier Elahee said he saw a man, identified by authorities as 37-year-old Jessie Woodard Jr., pulling an 11-year-old girl by the arm down the 6400 block of Wiehe Road.

"I noticed that a man was walking down the street toting a girl behind her pulling her by the wrist," Elahee said. "But as they walked passed us she looked back at me and mouthed the words help me several times."

Elahee then sprung into action, taking the child away from Woodard. He asked her if she knew the suspect.

"When she said no I was like what's going on. I asked the gentleman if he knew her and he said 'no I'm taking her home,'" he said.

Elahee immediately called police.

In the video, you can see Woodard try to escape.

Elahee chased him to the Zee Food Mart until police arrived.

"If he had gotten that little girl to where ever he was going to she could have been raped... killed," he said. "If I could have done something else I would have, but the right thing to do was to call the police and keep the girl safe.

Woodard has been charged with kidnapping.
