TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL)-- A Tallahassee man on trial for 1st degree murder is found guilty on a lesser charge. Shelton Mitchell was found guilty of manslaughter for his involvement in a murder in 2014.
The body of Terrell Smith was found inside the trunk of a car near Bicycle Road and Blountstown Street, while officers were working the scene of a traffic accident.
An autopsy revealed that Smith died from a single gunshot wound.
Mitchell's next court date is set for August 18th.
