MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL)--A Quincy man is in jail after a high speed chase.

Midway Police say officers got behind a Buick sedan on highway 90 to initiate a traffic stop to check out the driver's window tint Saturday.

That's when they say the driver pulled into the Pilot and almost hit a customer leaving the store.

They say the man then took off at a high rate of speed on U.S. 90 then to I-10.

Police say they were able to stop him at exit 181 with their vehicles then drew their guns. Police say the man took off again, and swerved to try and hit an officer. He was captured shortly after in Quincy.

The driver has been identified as 46-year old Keith Kirkland.

Midway Police say Kirkland's charges include reckless driving, and two counts of aggravated assault.
