UPDATE (December 14, 2012 - 9:30 P.M.)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) --Flurries were flying Friday night in the Capital City.

Fifty tons of snow was shipped in to transform area next to Florida State University Circus into a winter wonderland as part of the ninth annual Tallahassee Snow Festival.

The free event, organized by Jay Long, featured family friend events, food, hot chocolate, and a visit from Santa Claus.

The event is also held each year to collect toys to be donated to children at the Florida Baptist Children's Home.
