SUWANNEE COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - A 17-year-old is in the hospital with critical injuries, after a crash in Suwannee County Friday afternoon.

The Florida Highway Patrol says the teenager was at a stop sign southbound on 169th Road at the intersection of County Road 136. Another car, driven by 30-year-old Joshua Anderson was approaching that intersection. A truck, driven by 20-year-old Travis Tomas, was heading east on County Road 136, also approaching the intersection.

Troopers say the teenager failed to yield to Anderson, causing him to veer away from him. However, this caused the front of his car to hit the teenager's Nissan. Both cars were moving until they hit a fence.

Troopers say although the third vehicle tried to avoid hitting both cars, it ended up hitting the front of the teenager's car.

FHP says charges are pending.
