TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – A Tallahassee mother and son are behind bars after deputies pulled them over for a traffic violation and found meth inside their car.

According to court documents, on Tuesday at 1:37 p.m., Leon County deputies pulled a Ford F-150 over for a traffic violation on Commonwealth Boulevard.

While deputies were speaking with the driver, they noticed the passenger open the vehicle door and attempt to exit.

Deputies stopped the woman and began questioning her. While speaking with the woman, they noticed a small container of meth inside the truck.

Documents say deputies then asked the woman to exit the vehicle. Once they got her outside the vehicle, deputies say she handed over the container and stated, "Yeah it's meth in there."

The woman was identified as 67-year-old Wanda Pyles. When deputies asked Wanda if she had anything else on her, investigators say she reached in her bra and pulled out a plastic bag of meth.

Deputies identified the driver as 48-year old Anthony Pyles.

Documents say Wanda told deputies that Anthony was her son and that he was involved in some "bad stuff." She stated he has a drug issue and the drugs in the vehicle belonged to him.

Wanda also told deputies Anthony had been driving to different states and used counterfeit money, identification, and receipts in order to make money.

Wanda stated several times, "I know my son is a convict but I'm his mom and I love him."

Deputies attempted to speak with Anthony about what Wanda had told them, but he didn't want to speak to them without his attorney.

When deputies searched the truck,  documents say they found two plastic bags of marijuana, and several codes and copies of Walmart receipts.

In total, deputies found 11.2 grams of meth and 1.6 grams of marijuana.

Anthony and Wanda were arrested and transported to the Leon County Detention Facility. They are facing a series of drug-related charges.
