MIDWAY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Sheriff's Office is hosting a Summer Camp Application Day.

Sgt. Teresa Howard joined us in studio to discuss an upcoming summer camp and a day to sign up for it.

On April 14, 2018 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. the Leon County Sheriff's Office will have the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch, the Bond Community Bus, and deputies at the sheriff's office to accept applications for Camp Caruth held July 29, 201 through August 3, 2018.

At the Caruth Camp-Inglis/Yankeetown, boys and girls experience many different therapeutic camping activities to include canoeing, archery, swimming, and many other recreational activities allow them the opportunity to build basic teamwork and peer communication skills.

Additionally, they can spend the week enjoying the beautiful, tranquil outdoor environment.

The camp also provides an opportunity for deputy sheriffs and other law enforcement volunteers to get personally involved with the youngsters to form positive, healthy relationships.
