Police: Tallahassee man threatens child with gun at Sky Zone

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) – A Tallahassee man was arrested after being caught on security footage threatening a child with a gun at Sky Zone.

According to court documents, on Saturday at 5:08 p.m., Tallahassee Police responded to Sky Zone regarding an incident of a parent threatening another child.

When officers arrived on the scene they immediately spoke with the victim and his father. The victim told police that he had gotten into a fight with another child and an adult, 45-year-old Kwame King, threatened him.

Documents said the argument between the victim and the other child started on the basketball court and it turned physical when the other child pushed the victim first. The victim then pushed King’s son back and punched a third kid in the face.

Two Sky Zone employees then came over and separated the boys. The victim told officers that shortly after, King came over and approached him.

Officers said King began yelling at the victim saying, “I’ll knock your teeth out” and he would “bust a cap in him.”

The victim said Sky Zone employees had to step in to keep King away from him, but King continued to threaten and call the child vulgar names. During all of this, the victim said King also pointed at his hip and touched what appeared to be a gun.

Documents said the employees were eventually able to call police and get everyone separated. After speaking with the victim, police spoke to the two Sky Zone employees, who both confirmed the victim’s story.

Officers later spoke with King, who admitted he had a concealed gun on him. He also told officers that he was upset after finding out his child had been in a fight and decided to go confront the victim.

Police said King denied making threats to the victim and pointing to his gun.

Sky Zone released the security footage to officers and they were able to confirm what the victim told them.

According to documents, King was taken to the Leon County Detention Facility on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He has since bonded out.
