TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- After Tallahassee police find the body of Tavon Jackson, the man accused of killing 23-year-old Javona Glover last year, her family is speaking out.

Javona Glover was stabbed to death on August 30th at the Walgreens store at the corner of Tennessee Street and Ocala Road.

Tavon Jackson's body was found last night by the "Players Club student apartments" on Ocala Road, a three minutes' drive from the Walgreens.

After six months, Jennifer and Jabrea Battles can finally smile again.

"It has been a nightmare," said Jennifer Battles, Javona's mother. "This was the worst scenario that a parent could ever imagine."

"She was like a second mom to me. She was just like my best friend, my other half," said Jabrea, her sister. "She was a very good person."

Javona Glover's family says they haven't slept in peace since her murder. Javona left behind her daughter Janiah and a family praying for closure.

"Every day, we were looking over our shoulder, worried about Janiah's safety, our safety, because we didn't know where this murderer was," her mother said.

Jackson's body was found in a wooded area by the Players Club apartment complex. That's less than half a mile from where the murder happened. Police say they have a clearer idea of how long the body was in the woods.

"Based on the condition of the body when we found it in the woods along with the clothing that was on him -- which is the same clothing he had on during the murder of Ms. Glover -- we are going to assume at this point that he has been there since the time of the murder or very close to that time," said David Northway, the public information officer for Tallahassee Police Department.

Jabrea said, "It's a sense of relief, but it don't make me really feel any better, because my sister is not coming back."

"It brought a close to a horrific chapter of our life," said Jennifer. "Now, maybe, we can start the healing process."

Jabrea got a tattoo a week or two after her sister was killed to keep her memory alive.

"I just want her to know that I haven't forgotten about her," said Jabrea, "and she'll always have a piece of my heart."

Police say while the investigation is still in its early stages, Jackson's death appears to be a suicide.

Investigators are awaiting an autopsy from the medical examiner's office for an official cause of death.
