GADSDEN COUNTY, FL (WTXL) - A judge has set a hearing date for a Gadsden County sheriff after the State Attorney's Office says that he released inmates on furlough without approval.

In September, State Attorney Willie Meggs filed a petition against Sheriff Morris Young, saying that he furloughing certain inmates.

According to the State Attorney's Office, Sheriff Young allowed inmates who were held at the Gadsden County Jail to be released on furlough without judicial approval.

After the announcement, Sheriff Young said that the petition is "all about sabotage," and that furlough standards are not set by them.

The hearing date is scheduled for Friday, October 24th at 2pm to consider the petition.
