Jackson County Deputies Investigating Homicide

JACKSON COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - Authorities are investigating a homicide after a Marianna woman's body was found behind an abandoned packing house in Jackson County.

The Jackson County Sheriff's Office said that the body that was found on Thursday has been identified as 25-year-old Kaycha Smith of Marianna. Her body was found in the 5000 block of Old U.S. Road, behind an abandoned packing house.

Deputies said that the woman's car was not accounted for and that a BOLO was issued for it.

Additionally, a person of interest was identified as Daimeyon O'Neal, 22, who was in a relationship with Smith. Witnesses told authorities that Smith and O'Neal had also had some recent domestic issues.

Thursday evening, JSCO said that O'Neal met and spoke with investigators at Chipley Police Department.

The next day, around 3:30 a.m., Smith's car was found by the Marianna Police Department at Wynn Street Park and was towed to be processed by a crime lab.
