TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - After a massive rally outside the Historic Old Capitol Wednesday that drew thousands to push for gun reform, a group of participants carried 10 boxes full of petitions to Governor Rick Scott's office.

Madison Stuart, president of FSU Keep Guns Off Campus, said the petitions were to get the governor's attention and to keep lawmakers from considering "campus carry" bills in the future.

"These petitions represent anyone who is against gun violence anywhere in America," she said, "and voters in Florida are here to show that they understand that Rick Scott is not for our lives. These petitions represent those people."

A crowd of people followed the boxes into the Capitol. They included students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, who traveled from Parkland to Tallahassee Tuesday night.

The group of 100 high schoolers headed back to south Florida Wednesday evening, but one student told reporters he would return to the Capitol for as many times as it takes to see the change he and his classmates want.

Another student said he was willing to drop out of school to fight for gun reform.
