DECATUR COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) - Two Bainbridge men are dead after a crash in Decatur County early Saturday morning.

The driver, Markieth Vason Chrispen, 25, and a passenger, Brian Rashad Sanders, 27, were pronounced dead after their car struck a tree after failing to ride a curve in the road.

A Georgia State Patrol trooper stopped to help a vehicle that was stopped in the southbound lane of GA 253 south of Pinehill Road around 12:53 a.m. A deer was laying in the northbound lane.

As the trooper was notifying GSP of a possible deer crash, a 2010 blue Nissan Altima traveling north drove through the crash scene and ran over the deer.

According to GSP, the trooper tried to stop the vehicle to let Chrispen know about the deer strike and find out why he drove through the crash scene "in a reckless manner." The Altima sped off and kept traveling north at a high rate of speed until it couldn't stay on the road at a curve.

Neither man was wearing a seatbelt, according to GSP.
