TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Sheriffs and deputies from all over the Sunshine State were in Tallahassee Monday to honor law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty.

The Florida Sheriffs Association added four names to its Memorial Wall Monday: Orange County Deputy Norman Lewis, Hardee County Deputy Julie Bridges, St. Lucie County Captain Charlie Scavuzzo, and Broward County Deputy Michael Ryan.

Those four died in 2017 and just two weeks ago, two deputies in Gilchrist County were killed.

Sheriff Bobby Schultz made the trip to Tallahassee. He said going through the loss of law enforcement in his own agency takes on "a whole new meaning."

"In Gilchrist County, we're very blessed and lucky that they honor law enforcement. They appreciate law enforcement in spite of what happened -- and they understand that there's more good in this world than there is bad," said Sheriff Schultz. "As far as what we can do to recognize these men and women, they don't do it for the thanks. They don't do it for the pat on the back. All we ask you to do is give a little respect."

Sergeant Noel Ramirez and Deputy Taylor Lindsey will have their names added to the Memorial Wall next year.

With Monday's additions, the wall now has 373 names.
