(WTXL) - The Georgia Department of Natural Resources says you need to know a few things before heading out with your rod and reel this season.
Anyone over the age of 16 must have a fishing license. If you fish without one, you could get a ticket.
The DNR says buying a fishing license can also help the overall Georgia economy. Georgia has 1.3 million anglers.
The DNR says rangers will conduct safety checks regularly when they spot fishers. So make sure you have your license ready to show.
