TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - The Leon County Supervisor of Elections says an early voting site for the 2018 General Election will be opened on FSU's campus.

According to a press release from Mark Earley's office, the early voting site will be open for the 2018 General Election at the FSU Donald L. Tucker Center. The entrance will be on the east side of the building, just off of Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd.

While other scheduled activities at the Tucker Center during the early voting period may create a few hiccups, officials say "it is the only campus location offered that can serve multiple student populations for the two-week duration of early voting."

"We are heartened by President Thrasher's pledge to do everything necessary to make this a workable solution for all students in our community, so we are moving forward in good faith," officials wrote.

They say the decision was also made in anticipation of traffic flow, parking and pedestrian access challenges at the Leon County Courthouse due to the Washington Square construction project

Officials expect challenges to intensify as General Election approaches, so they hope the voting site at the Tucker Center will serve as a good alternative.
