TIFT COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Arrest warrants have been issued against two South Georgia men and one woman, charging them in connection with the armed robbery and murder of a Tift County convenience store owner.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation issued the warrants on Thursday against three 21-year-olds in the murder of Ahktar Perveez, 50.  

Two of the suspects are still at large while one is being held in the Ben Hill County Jail for another armed robbery.

GBI agents have charged Caleb Day with felony murder and armed robbery, Alexis Naomi McCray was charged with armed robbery and party to the crime of murder. Agents have issued warrants for those two, but they have not been arrested.   

Nathaniel Day has been charged with armed robbery and party to the crime of murder. He is already being held in the Ben Hill County Jail for an unrelated armed robbery charge.

The GBI said that on July 30, around 3:25 in the afternoon, Perveez was shot and killed during a robbery.  

Now, the GBI is asking for the community's help finding Caleb Day and Alexis McCray.

ELDORADO, GA (WALB) - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has confirmed one person was found dead after a shooting in Tift County Monday afternoon.

The GBI has identified the victim as Akhtar Perveez, 55.

According to the GBI, Perveez was found dead inside the store after what appears to be a robbery at the Eldorado Food Mart at US 41 South and Omega-Eldorado Road.

WALB spoke with one woman on the scene who said her father works at the store with the owner.

She did not want to be identified but said the store owner was one of the kindest souls you'll ever meet.

"He was genuinely loved and respected by every single person who knew him, who was an acquaintance with him, who frequented the store on a daily basis, or who just knew him in passing," the woman explained. "He exuded a genuine light."

A Tift County Sheriff's Office deputy told WALB there was a shooting at the convenience store.

The Tift County Sheriff's Office requested the help of the GBI just before 3:30 p.m.

The GBI said multiple calls were made to Tift County 911, reporting suspicious activity in and around the store earlier in the day. 

Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough said the sheriff's office has turned the case over to the GBI.
