LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. (AP) - Metro Atlanta sheriff's officials say a man has been reunited with his late grandfather's WWII memorabilia.

Gwinnett County sheriff's spokeswoman Michele Pihera says the man picked up the stolen items Monday. Authorities say several items including ribbons, pins and more WWII mementos that belonged to the man's grandfather were stolen in late-March burglary.

Pihera says, authorities were told that a stolen car had been found in Norcross and police found the memorabilia in a small brown leather pouch. A detective found a name on the back of a bracelet inside the pouch and found one of the man's relatives in New York.

Pihera says the veteran's relative told authorities that he had a family member in metro Atlanta. Police traced the stolen items back to his burglary report.
