TALLAHASSEE, Fl. (WTXL) -- A former FAMU sociology professor and civil rights activist has died.
Dr. Charles U. Smith served as FAMU's Dean of Graduate Studies. Smith wrote many scholarly articles, and is also the author of "The Civil Rights Movement in Florida and The United States: Historical and Contemporary Perspective."
Smith's funeral will be held this Saturday at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Tallahassee at 11 A.M.
