TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) - Florida State University and other partners are teaming up to host a research symposium on child abuse prevention.

Their goal is to raise the standard of Florida's child abuse preventions service.

The partnership will develop strategies and identify obstacles they're facing every day in the fight against child abuse.

"It's extremely important for us to have a learning exchange and to also have a call to action so we're going to learn from people with the brightest minds and the biggest hearts," said Jessica Pryce. "I want people to stretch themselves to think differently about prevention so they can change the way they look at their neighbors and change the way they interact with different agencies."

The symposium will continue Friday morning at the The Augustus B. Turnbull III Florida State Conference Center.
