TALLAHASSEE,Fla. (WTXL) - Today is Giving Tuesday, a global effort asking you to help support your community.
The Florida State College of Medicine is among those asking for your help to raise money for a good cause.
They're taking donations for the Alexander "Sandy" Halperin Alzheimer's Research Fund.
Sandy, who is the subject of a CNN documentary about his journey with the disease, lives in Tallahasssee with his wife, two daughters, and three granddaughters.
The College of Medicine will use the money donated, to support research and discovery initiatives at Florida State.
According to the College of Medicine, Alzheimer's is now the sixth leading cause of death in the U.S.
