FRANKLIN COUNTY, Fla. (WTXL) - The Franklin County Sheriff's Office says several people have called them about a scam involving Duke Energy.

The sheriff says the scam artist is telling people their power will be cut off if they don't pay a certain amount right away.

The numbers that have been calling are all linked to a scam.

"Please hang up the phone," the sheriff said. "Call Duke directly at 1-800-700-8744 and simply ask about your bill."
