MIDWAY, FL (WTXL) -- The city of Midway is still in the midst of a legal battle with a former city manager.

Dorothy Inman-Johnson is demanding the city pay more than $44,000 in court costs and back pay, after she says a judge ruled in her favor regarding a lawsuit she filed against her former employer.

Inman-Johnson claims she was fired from her position in June 2015 and then sued the city for wrongful termination.

The city has said she was not let go, but that she voluntarily resigned.

Wednesday, her legal team delivered a demand letter of payment to the city.

She is asking the city to pay her by May 7. A finalized court order puts that total at $44,287.

Current city manager Auburn Ford says an appeal has been filed with the District Court of Appeals. A date for that hearing hasn't been set yet.
