MIAMI BEACH, Fla. (AP) - A Miami Beach detective is losing a month's pay due to a suspension for using excessive force while arresting a 19-year-old model.

An internal affairs investigation found that Phillippe Archer violated the department's rules on use of force and securing prisoners in custody during the 2013 arrest of Megan Amadescu.

The Miami Herald (http://hrld.us/1KcIYnC ) reports Archer will serve his suspension on days spread out through May, June and the beginning of July.

Archer arrested Amadescu following a disturbance call at a South Beach condo. The concierge told authorities she was drunk and refused to leave.

Surveillance footage from a parking garage camera near the police station showed Archer punching and kicking the handcuffed woman after she kicked him.

The FBI investigated the incident but chose not to prosecute.
