TALLAHASSEE, FL (WTXL) -- According to the American Civil Liberties Union, the Tallahassee Police Department is secretly tracking your cell phones.

According to the motion filed in court by the ACLU, the police department is using a device called the "stingray" that impersonates a cell phone tower and prompts phones to reveal their precise locations. According to the ACLU, the stingray also gives police access to all of the calls and text messages they send and receive.

The ACLU claims that when department uses the stingray it "sweep up information about innocent people and criminal suspects alike."
