TALLAHASSEE Fla. (WTXL) — Top representatives of Florida's golf industry visited the state capitol today in recognition of "Florida Golf Day" to share messages about the game's economic impact, youth development programs, sustainability practices and environmental benefits.
Florida's total golf economic impact generates a total of $13.8 billion dollars. It also supports nearly 167,000 jobs with an annual wage income of $4.7 billion. These findings are apart of the Florida Golf Economy Report, commissioned by GOLF 20/20 and prepared by SRI International.
The Florida Golf Coalition and PGA of America were also in attendance to give golf lessons in the capitol courtyard. Members of the House and Senate took part in putting challenge that gave them a better understanding on how the game is played and how to perfect their swing.
